My emergence into photography was purely accidental. Formally trained as a Visual Merchandiser for fashion and home décor retailers, I began my love of photography with a simple point and shoot camera while exploring the many streets, neighbourhoods, and green spaces of Toronto in my spare time.
Born in the historic town of Cobourg, Ontario, and as an active volunteer with heritage preservation groups here in Toronto; architecture and history played a strong influence in my early work. Expanding my arsenal to include a professional grade digital SLR camera, I also extended my work to embrace urban textures, colours, and still life objects.
While I am impressed with the current ability to use technology to alter and create exceptional photographs, my preference is to keep things as natural as possible. It is my hope that the audience views my image as I initially captured it, allowing them to react to the subject’s originality. My goal is to use my photography to present the audience with elusive images of Toronto; a city rich in layers and picturesque moments.
